Interview Advice
An interview is your chance to bring your CV to life and show employers why you’re the right fit. Preparation is key — here’s how to approach it with confidence.
- Do your research- Understand the company: products, markets, recent news.
- Learn about the role: key responsibilities, how it fits in the business.
- Prepare examples of your work that show you can meet their needs.

- Know your CV inside out- Expect to be asked about anything you’ve listed. Be ready to explain: - What you achieved in each role.
- Why you moved on.
- What you learnt along the way.

- Practice common questions- Food & FMCG employers often ask about: - Working in fast-paced environments.
- Problem-solving under pressure.
- Technical skills (equipment, processes, regulations).
- Teamwork and leadership.
 - Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to keep answers clear and structured.
- Ask smart questions- Show interest and initiative by preparing 2–3 questions, such as: - “What does success look like in this role?”
- “How does this role contribute to the wider business goals?”
- “What’s the culture like in the team?”

- First impressions count- Dress appropriately for the business.
- Arrive on time (or log in early if virtual).
- Be polite, positive, and enthusiastic.
